ABOUT

Therapy is an opportunity to explore concerns and obstacles in life with the goal of healing, positive change and self development/actualization. I incorporate a Person Centered approach with mindfulness, expressive art therapies and connection to nature. I work with individuals at all stages of life beginning at 3 years. Therapy with children takes place within the realm of play, through visual arts, drama, music and explorations in nature. Therapy with teens and adults takes place through verbal conversation as well as the expressive arts, mindfulness and somatic awareness to help explore underlying feelings and sensations.

Mindfulness meditation, seated and standing yoga poses and somatic awareness are practiced in therapy with all ages to help individuals ground themselves in their body and engage in the present moment which helps to calm the nervous system and it’s felt anxiety.  Grounding also helps to connect with the self through the felt connection of the body to the ground and surrounding nature as experienced through the senses. A grounded experience helps one to feel their own individual strength connected to nature.

Sessions are offered in person at my studio/office on 7 acres of nature preserve within minutes from the center of Woodstock, NY or by online or cell phone tele-therapy.

Individuals come to therapy to explore whatever it is that is concerning them.  Therapy provides a confidential non- judgmental space, separate from friends and family which allows one the freedom to assess their current life situations and imagine and explore healthy alternatives and change.  A look into one’s family of origin, even generations back is helpful as it is natural to internalize beliefs and behaviors that were modeled but may not have served us well.

Please phone or email inquiries regarding my practice. I offer a complementary 15 minute phone or Zoom meeting for you to meet me and inquire about your interest in therapy.
